I am Chinese, but this matter has troubled me. China places great emphasis on history education, with courses covering the detailed histories of most countries, typically taught over six years as a core subject, sometimes even one to three lessons a day. History includes the Nanjing Massacre perpetrated by Japan against China and the conflicts during its militaristic period, which could very well have been the trigger.

Although I frequently follow and have lived in China, I received no Chinese history education, so I don't understand why there is so much xenophobia in China.

I understand the meaning of history education—not forgetting those who sacrificed for us—and I somewhat understand not forgetting those who seriously harmed us, but I cannot understand the extreme hatred that has arisen in China.

In China, you can even see hate speech against India, South Korea, the United States, Taiwan, and especially Japan for genocide and massacres in the comments of completely unrelated videos. You can also see videos recommending the atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima during the New Year, and then a lot of people cheer (why has it developed like this?).

This is not just chaos on the internet; some people are putting it into action in real life. One example is the massacre at a Japanese international kindergarten in China, which was stopped by a woman on campus. Tragically, the woman died during the struggle, and even more tragically, she received no praise for her courage and act of protection, only insults from her own countrymen.

Meanwhile, many films and animations about opposing Japan are commonplace, usually depicting protagonists gaining superpowers and easily defeating World War II Japan. I don't understand why this kind of content is so popular in China, nor do I understand why it's allowed to be published; there are nearly 30 million films on this subject. Fortunately, the Chinese government has restrained itself, albeit turning a blind eye, which at least proves that China hasn't gone to political extremism.

I'm very worried that China will follow the path of Germany or Japan in World War II, because the public's state of mind is already similar. I can't imagine a large portion of a country's grassroots population speaking so extremely and recklessly, or even casually, about what constitutes genocide against other races/nations.

This might also be a political strategy of the Chinese government: to shift the focus of conflict overseas to reduce public resistance to the actual problems at home.

I know that while the majority of the population harbors hatred towards Japan, many Chinese people don't actually have such negative thoughts or love for Japan. My friends, most Chinese people who have traveled abroad, and miHoYo's practice of incorporating Japanese culture and imagery into almost all of their games prove this point.

In short, I hope those who want to understand the details will be aware of some local information, and I also hope that miHoYo will thrive and remain unaffected by politics.

I'm kinda of the opinion some people saw this coming. I mean, they revealed the Dahlia as the next Limited character BEFORE we were supposed to go to Edo Star. I believe her reveal was either pushed forward from a future patch or she replaced the original Edo Star, Japan-esque character that would serve as the introduction character to the kind of new friends and enemies we may meet. It makes sense since many mobile and gacha games will give you the first new character before a big update in the patch before it as a true preview. My opinion is that Edo Star was delayed in all reality, not cancelled. Probably found something that is a big element in the E.S. story that due to current politics they need to rewrite the context of. E.S. Will probably be V5.0+ once whatever political crap dies back down and instead we're getting a better look at other characters and their storyline that were hinted at earlier but not planned to be brought to the table so soon. The three weeks are for them to alter whatever they need to match the story for these huge changes.

I was so excited for a Japanese inspired world in hsr and now this happens 💀
